Kleen Energy Systems is a 620 megawatt (MW) combined cycle electric generating plant that utilizes natural gas to generate power through two combustion gas turbine generators and a steam turbine generator. The plant is also capable of burning ultra low sulfur diesel fuel (ULSD) as a backup fuel. The Facility is located on a 137-acre parcel at the site of a former feldspar mine and rock quarry. The parcel is bounded to the north by River Road and is east of the center of Middletown, CT.
